Stephen De Sena has been a part of Nevada County since he was a young child. Moving to Nevada County in the 1970’s, Steve says, “I am fortunate to have the unique experience of growing up in this community and being involved since early childhood.”
Stephen obtained a B.S. degree from Concordia University, Irvine, and post graduate studies in Education at Sacramento State University. Steve went on to teach Alternative Education to grade 9-12, inspiring and guiding high school students for 11 years. “I served children that did not fit in to the cookie cutter school system many of us endured.” During this time, Stephen also supported his fellow colleagues in successfully negotiating Union Contracts while serving on the negotiations team for five years, and as Chief Negotiator for two years.
